The best soothing words to have been made: Mile sur mera tumhara.....to sur bane humara.....

Mile sur mera tumharaa,
Tho sur bane hamaraa....
sur kee nadhiyaan
har disha se behkee saagar mein milee.
Baadalon ka roop leiker
bharse halke halke...
Mile sur mera tumharaa.. tho... sur bane
hamaara.. Mile sur mera tumhara...

Chaain taraj tahin nyay taraj
ek but baniye saayen taraj
Tera sur mile mere sur de naal
milke bane ek nava surtaal
Mile sur mera tumharaa....tho sur bane hamaara..
Mohnja sur tohi desa pyara mile jadein geet ashaanjo madhur tarano
bane tadein
Sur ka dariya bahte saagar me mile badlaan da roop leike barasan
holle haule

Isaindhal namm iruvarin suramum namadhakum.. Dhisai veru aanalum
aazi ser aarugal Mugilai mazaiyai pozivadu pol isai ...Namm
isssaiiii.... Thik thakida thathikakidA....thaka thimi thaka junu

Nanna dhwanige ninna dhwani-ya, seridante namma dhwaniya..
Naa swaramu nee swaramu sangammamai, mana swaram ga avatarinchey

Ninde swaramum ningalude swaramum otthucheiyum Namudeya swaramai....

Tomaar shoor moder shoor srishti koroor koi ekshoor[2]...
Sriishti karoon woi katha

Toma mora swarer milan srishti kare chalbochatano

male sur jo taro maro, bane aapno sur niralo

majhya tumchya julta tara madhur suranchya barasti dhara

Sur ki nadiya har disha se behke saagar mein mile...
Baadlo ka roop leke barse halke halke..
Oh...Mile sur mera tumhara tho....sur bane hamara...

Mile Sur mera tumhara
tho sur bane hamara tho sur bane hamara
tho sur bane hamara

Whenever I listen to this song, I drown in the reminiscence of the yester years. Each time the music touches my ears, I get dragged into my nostalgic childhood. In those days, I used to rush to the TV to see and hear this lovely documented music commercial then. The video depicts the diversity of our country in the most lucid but impeccable way.

Especially in this song, where every naunce of our diversities is covered, the ending has the children covered in saffron, white and green running gracefully to depict the tricolors of our Indian flag. The scene is simply superb. After so many years, when I saw this video on DD today, for some reason my eyes became wet. Tears withstood somehow impeding themselves from trickling down. I knew the feeling: The Pride. Pride of having been born an Indian. Whatever language, whatever culture, the words above soothe the ears…..feels like heaven each time I hear it.....

The song was again remade in 2010 as Phir mile sur mera tumhara with all and the only Bollywood clout but it did not impress much. Nothing beats the simplicity and the honesty of the old commercial. It ignites the delight of being an Indian.

Jai Hind!!
